OpenVault Platform Tracks Broadband Usage in Real Time

July 31, 2012

By Anuradha Shukla, TMCnet Contributor

A newly released mobile application from OpenVault allows an operator’s high speed data subscribers to easily view the amount of data they have consumed on their broadband plan.

In addition to enabling customers to have a better understanding of their consumption behavior, this application allows operators to support new pricing models, communicate marketing messages, as well as usage thresholds.

The new app from OpenVault is now available for the iPhone and will be available for Android (News - Alert) operating systems in Q4 2012.

OpenVault provides service-based real-time usage, data, and analytics solutions for Multiple System Operators (MSOs). The company notes that this usage meter application will help the operators drive additional revenue, and enhance their value perception in the eyes of the customers.

The SmartApps platform is easy to use as subscribers can simply download and begin using the service.

“Our SmartApps platform makes it easy for operators to provide real-time information to their subscribers about their usage and inform them about upgrade opportunities that help increase revenues. Best of all, there’s no hardware to purchase or software to support,” said Rich Evans, vice president of Sales & Marketing OpenVault.

Commenting on the rationale of the release, OpenVault emphasizes the importance of having full visibility into the current and historical usage consumption levels as this helps subscribers to make an informed decision about the broadband services.

OpenVault’s SmartApps solution helps MSOs communicate effectively with customers, providing full transparency via an easy to navigate mobile app.

OpenVault was in the news earlier this month for showcasing the most modern innovation in policy solutions at The Independent Show in San Francisco.
