Lod are specialist providers of system on a chip and carrier grade fabric flow processors for telecommunication and data communication platforms supporting Programmable Network and Ethernity (News - Alert) Networks. The company recently announced that the U.S. Patent office has awarded it a patent for a "METHOD AND DEVICE FOR PROCESSING DATA PACKETS." The company also announced that it will be presenting at the Mobile World Congress (News - Alert) to be held in Barcelona from 25 February - 28 February 2013 at IMA Pavilion Hall 2.
The new patent pertains to the various methods and devices which perform advanced search mechanisms for the processing, classification, filtering and forwarding of data packets in addition to carrying on different searches on a data packet which includes Layer 2 to layer 4, protocols, among other key types. The invention will help in driving methods and devices which achieve the performance of search performed by CAM, via external DRAM memory, for ensuring a reduction in the need for costly external CAM.
The newly introduced patent as well as the company’s previously approved patents has all been developed to drive integration of the ENET System on Chip architecture into low cost and small form FPGA with the capability of delivering increased functionality, flexibility, scalability, and programmability in comparison to off the shelves ASSP.
At present, there are hundreds of thousands of devices based on ENET System on a Chip architecture. With the new patent and its previously approved patents, Ethernity is hoping to successfully consolidate its position as a leading name within the global Carrier Ethernet Market.
As an expert on system on a chip, carrier grade fabric flow processors for telecommunication and data communication platforms for supporting Programmable Network, Ethernity Networks products are specifically ideal for deployment within the Broadband Access, Mobile Backhaul, and Metro Ethernet market segments.
