Increasing data consumption and rising bandwidths have been exerting more pressure upon networks with every passing day, and that makes it necessary for enterprises to seek enhanced and immediate visibility into their networks.
Net Optics (News - Alert), Inc., a company that offers total application and network visibility solutions, is going to introduce a new high-density Flex Tap MTP to the market, allowing enterprises to leverage high-speed tapping solutions in relatively small 1U space and providing them with various benefits, which become more prominent in these days when the costs of rack space are constantly increasing.
The new scalable Tap can be used very conveniently and offers the same commendable performance, reliability and convenience that the Flex Tap family comprising the industry standard of 100G, is well-known for. Also, it provides considerable business and productivity benefits, as a result of which various telecommunications companies have been leveraging the reliability and flexibility of the Tap to suit a range of network design options.
Fulfilling a variety of needs, the new Tap by Net Optics can be deployed in 1G, 10G, 40G and 100G capacities at the same time; and it is able to fit up to 48 10G taps within a single rack. It can handle fiber networks with throughput of 4.8 Tbps, and doesn’t need any power or Internet protocol or IP address to run.
Any monitoring device can be connected with the Flex Tap MTP to access comprehensive visibility of full duplex traffic and track Layer 1 and Layer 2 errors immediately. Further, it features a point of failure and doesn’t affect other network connections at all; and enables ‘round the clock and transparent monitoring. Offering extensive support to monitoring devices and intrusion detection systems by almost all well-known manufacturers, the device also confirms to the LC/Single Mode or ‘SM’ capabilities of Net Optics.
"We're excited to make available this high-performance productivity solution that delivers comprehensive Tapping capabilities within a very cost-effective parameter. It adds up to an overall superior investment value for our customers," said Daniel Aharon, senior director of Product Management at Net Optics, in a statement.
In December 2012, Net Optics, Inc. announced that an Internet company deployed its Spyke AA-NPM solution across its entire network. This local commerce website has soared to global popularity by featuring deal-of-the-day shopping discounts for its customers. Real-time visibility and uncompromising network availability are crucial to its business plan, which relies on instantaneous communication with online users responding to promotions.
