Companies often expose sensitive data to hackers in their wireless networks without knowing it, lacking the right tools to detect and prevent wireless intrusion that works in favor of intruders.
Many companies even have various rogue (unauthorized) access points in their wireless networks.
But there are various solutions available to detect and prevent wireless intrusion. AirTight WIPS from AirTight Networks (News - Alert) is one such solution. Recently, the company announced that the system achieved HP ArcSight Common Event Format (CEF) certification.
This certification enables the viewing of AirTight logs in a hybrid environment. It also enables network administrators to keep better track of enterprise log data.
HP has created the CEF certification to create an interoperable certified ecosystem that works with various products offered by ArcSight (News - Alert), Fortify and Tipping Point. The company also provides Security Intelligence and Risk Management (SIRM) platforms to manage enterprise security for its clients.
“With aggressive opponents determined to steal data coming from all vectors, network administrators must constantly watch, assess, evaluate and respond quickly. They need an easy way to correlate and act on all information about threats to the network," said Jatin Parekh, VP of Product Management at AirTight. "By joining best of breed technologies from AirTight and HP, customers benefit from a certified solution to address these security concerns.”
AirTight has been working in the field of wireless intrusion for a long time. Recently, officials announced that it will display its cloud-managed Wi-Fi for Multi-unit retail at the 2013 National Retail Federation's 102nd Annual Convention and Expo.
AirTight Wi-Fi makes use of the company’s wireless intrusion detection and prevention (WIPS), and offers an enterprise-class 802.11n Wi-Fi access solution.
