Verizon Positioned in Gartner's Leaders Quadrant

Verizon (News - Alert), a company that delivers broadband and other wireless and wireline communications services, was recently positioned in the Leaders quadrant in Gartner's (News - Alert) new report, "Magic Quadrant for Asia/Pacific Network Service Providers," for the sixth consecutive year.

The company is also featured in the Leaders quadrants in Gartner's "Magic Quadrant for Global Network Service Providers"[ii] and "Magic Quadrant for Pan-European Network Service Providers"[iii].

Andrew Dobbins, Verizon's Asia-Pacific group vice president, said, "The introduction of Verizon Enterprise Solutions has really energized our market presence in 2012. We've continued to increase our foothold within the managed services space, with enhancements to our existing product portfolio, and the introduction of new solutions such as Enterprise-Mobility-as-a-Service and Open Video.”

“With our world-class global network as the essential platform for integrated industry solutions, we will play an increasingly critical role in helping our customers transform how they do business in Asia-Pacific," Dobbins added.

Verizon Wireless (News - Alert) operates America's most reliable wireless network, with nearly 96 million retail customers nationwide. Verizon also provides converged communications, information and entertainment services over America's most advanced fiber optic network, and delivers integrated business solutions to customers in more than 150 countries – including all of the Fortune 500.

A Dow 30 company with $111 billion in 2011 revenue, Verizon employs a diverse workforce of 184,500.

In related news, Verizon Wireless recently announced the availability of its 4G Long Term Evolution (LTE (News - Alert)) network in Clarksburg, West Virginia as of December 20. Verizon's 4G LTE network will be available in Clarksburg, Grafton and Salem, West Virginia.

The company said that its 4G LTE coverage is currently available to over 250 million people throughout the U.S., and with the expansion this week, it will be available in more than 470 markets throughout the country.
