Net Optics Delivers Unprecedented High Availability with Latest Network Packet Broker

December 10, 2012

By Rajani Baburajan, TMCnet Contributor

Net Optics (News - Alert), a provider of intelligent network access and monitoring architecture solutions, has just upgraded its network packet broker (NPB) solution. The new xStream Family 4.1 delivers high availability (HA) functionality to customer’s tools, dramatically benefiting those who are under constant pressure to deliver always-on performance.

The latest network packet border solution enables customers to deploy even the most complex network monitoring and security solutions in a way that simplifies their IT challenges by integrating key functions onto one platform, according to Sharon Besser (News - Alert), VP Technology at Net Optics.

"We're committed to advancing the leading edge with our Network Packet Broker solutions, including the xStream Family, to ensure that our customers can protect their networks, maintain superior performance and gain the full value of their tool investment," Besser added in a statement.

The service can be deployed in both in-line and out-of-band configurations—even if those tools were not designed with high availability features in mind. The solution also powers seamless synchronization for its load balancing solution, xBalancer.

The latest xStream Family is a landmark network packet broker suite that merges three of Net Optics' most sophisticated products, which perform quick link aggregation in addition to advanced load balancing from a single, convenient platform.

With this launch, the network packet broker provider will be enabling companies to provide robust security and be able to efficiently handle today’s challenging high volume traffic. It even introduces a new filter management profile which increases the maximum number of filters available in some configurations to the unprecedented number of 4,096.

Further, the xStream Family 4.1 comes with enhanced device management capabilities and can be integrated with third-party management solutions.
