Structured Achieves Apple Consultants Network Certification

December 04, 2012

By David Delony, Contributing Writer

Structured, an information technology consultancy firm and systems integrator, has completed its training program for the Apple (News - Alert) Consultants Network (ACN) and Mobile Device Management (MDM) certification.

“Receiving the mobility certification in the Apple Consultants Network Program is another way for us to bring our advanced expertise to customers that want to roll out BYOD policies,” said Ron Fowler, Structured’s president and CEO. “This adds a high-profile element to the complete data security and mobile device management services we have at Structured.”

As more and more users bring their own mobile devices, smartphone and tablet prices continue to gain features, and prices continue to drop, it’s important for businesses to manage them properly so that unnecessary risks like malware and misuses of confidential information don’t happen.

At the same time, businesses must make sure employees who do use their own devices can access important resources they need to work effectively, including their company e-mail accounts.

The Apple Consultants Network is a worldwide directory of professionals Apple has certified to offer services relating to Apple’s hardware and software, including its popular mobile devices.

In order to qualify for the certification, Structured’s technicians had to prove they could implement Apple’s portable devices, including the iPhone (News - Alert) and iPad, in a business environment. The tasks included wireless technologies, network integration, network security and device management.

Certification also requires employees to be familiar with mobile apps and the ability to help customers discover creative users for them.

The Clackamas, Ore.-based company is listed as a consultant on Apple’s website. According to the profile, two of the company’s employees have been certified under Apple’s program. The other qualifications displayed on the profile include “Mobile Technical Competency” and Aerohive ACWA.

Structured’s other services include application delivery, business continuity, enterprise networking, information security, governance, storage, computing and unified communications.
