Orckit-Corrigent Ltd. , a Packet Transport Network (PTN) vendor, announced that ODR Technology Services GmbH (ODR TSG), a subsidiary of EnBW Ostwürttemberg Donau Ries AG (EnBW ODR), has selected Orckit-Corrigent’s MPLS and MPLS-TP based CM-4000 PTN switches and the CM-View network management system.

Also, the 3M (News - Alert) Services GmbH support platform allows complete and efficient build out of new network for connectivity services.

The Multiprotocol Label Switching - Transport Profile (MPLS-TP) is a packet transport technology that leverages benefits from the existing MPLS networking infrastructure, and improves the efficiency and effectiveness of packet transport networks, while maintaining the mandatory Operation Administration and Maintenance (OAM) capabilities of  legacy SONET/SDH networks.

Bernhard Palm, CEO, stated, “We are dealing since more than 1.5 years with the selection of a new Ethernet based transport technology. Finally as a result of a European public tendering we evaluated the solution of Orckit-Corrigent in a big proof of concept.”

“ODR TSG is deploying an advanced networking infrastructure that will deliver residential broadband and enterprise VPN service to our subscribers."

"Orckit-Corrigent's solutions successfully meet our overall requirements, especially our need for migration possibilities of our existing SDH network. Together with 3M Services support, we look forward to providing our subscribers with higher capacities and various advanced new features like Sync-E or EOAM,” says Sebastian Ams, Project manager.

Orckit-Corrigent’s CM-4000 portfolio is a series of small-, medium- and large-capacity Packet Transport Network switch with any combination of Ethernet, SDH and PDH services for migration toward a unified packet network. These are dual stack IP/MPLS and MPLS-TP, packet synchronization and circuit emulation technologies, and can scale up the delivery of residential, business and mobile backhauling services in next-generation telecom networks.

"Orckit-Corrigent is pleased to serve EnBW and include ODR TSG in our growing global customer base,” says Mr. Izhak Tamir, co-founder, chairman of the board, and president of Orckit Communications (News - Alert).

“The increased deployments in the German market highlight our competitive offering. Telecommunication infrastructure deployed by utility companies requires advanced packet and legacy TDM services and this combination is something our technologies and products are perfectly suited for," Tamir adds.

The low prices, knowledge and the flexibility in the handling of customer requests offers economic success.
