VSS Monitoring Integrates Network Packet Broker with Riverbed Cascade Solution

VSS Monitoring (News - Alert), through its network packet broker (NPB) solutions, helps businesses improve network tool usage and efficiency, simplify IT operations, and enhance ROI from existing tools.

In a major enhancement to its network packet broker solutions, the company has seamlessly integrated its products with Riverbed (News - Alert) Cascade product family. In addition, VSS Monitoring has also inked a partnership with Riverbed Technology to deliver an advanced network analysis and visibility solution with precision time stamping for service providers, government, and enterprise customers.

The partnership, under the Riverbed Technology Alliance (RTA) Program, allows Cascade products to read the time stamping functionality of the VSS Monitoring vBroker, Distributed Series and Protector Series solutions. The hardware-based time stamping capabilities combined with VSS Monitoring vMesh architecture powers an effective way to troubleshoot and measure application response times, jitter and latency across the entire network. 

 “The time stamp functionality from VSS Monitoring gives Riverbed Cascade customers increased visibility into network and application performance problems for more rapidly addressing performance issues,” said Dimitri Vlachos, senior director of marketing and products, Cascade Business Unit at Riverbed, in a statement.

The combined solution also offers accelerated network analysis and shortens time to resolution of network and application performance problems across service provider, enterprise, and government IT environments. 

“Riverbed delivers industry-leading network performance management solutions, and integrating with Cascade products enables new and important time stamping and network visibility capabilities for joint customers,” added Dean Beaver, VP Global Sales and Alliances, VSS Monitoring.

VSS Monitoring is touting as offering a suite of network intelligence optimization systems for passive monitoring. Its active inline tools help pinpoint small problems before they become major issues and begin to affect the network being used by end users.
