NetMotion Wireless' Locality Software Provides Field Officer Efficiency

November 13, 2012

By Daniel Brecht, Contributing Writer

Based in Seattle and founded in 2001, NetMotion Wireless (News - Alert), a maker of wireless network performance management software, provides solutions to enhance productivity for mobile device workers in any industry.

This is a company that has been recognized more than once by Inc. as one of the fastest-growing private companies in America. The company provides products that can help their customers maximize their return on investment, all while being able to maintain security, keep control of deployed field devices and maintain reliable connections.

Many organizations across multiple industries have relied on NetMotion Wireless’ mobile deployment strategies. Some customers have elected to deploy their client/server software VPN solution, Mobility XE, while others their cellular network performance management software solution, Locality, to meet all their business needs and requirements.

Recently, Oregon State Police (OSP) selected NetMotion Wireless’ Locality product to enhance its mobile computing deployments. It is to become a critical component of their operations infrastructure to improve the efficiency of field officers.

Locality, which has been named as a 2012 Hot Product by Public Safety Communications, allows OSP to meet new coverage requirements and troubleshoot cellular network connectivity issues. In addition, it will be used to help reduce IT help desk tickets and provide OSP real-time access to critical data by connecting to central information systems and databases to retrieve what is needed while on the move at any time.

Before Locality, OSP was not able to be as productive to identify and quickly address dropped connection and packet issues. Locality offers the OSP IT team improved field service operations, more efficiency, and the chance to better serve the communities in a remote location by proactively identifying coverage issues and ensure mobile data deployments are working.

NetMotion Wireless’ Locality has not only been able to quickly pinpoint network issues for field officers, but has reduced their downtime as well. As a result, this product has provided OSP with the highest productivity by keeping them connected as they move in and out of wireless coverage and roam between networks. They were able to obtain wireless data in time of need, all while making it possible to reduce wireless deployment expenditures.
