Clarify NGx Provides Operators the Ability to Improve Network Efficiency

October 30, 2012

By Tabitha Naylor, Contributing Writer

Earlier this week, a leader in simplifying wireless and site solutions for private and public networks, PCTEL (News - Alert), Inc., announced the next-generation drive test tool for its innovative Clarify Interference Management System, the Clarify NGx.

Featuring patented PCTEL algorithms, the Clarify Interference Management System provides superior insight into network interference issues on UMTS and GSM networks. To solve their interference problems, lower costs, and deliver improved Quality of Service (QoS) to their users, operators around the world have used the Clarify system.

While improving on its industry-leading measurement performance, the Clarify NGx represents a leap forward in speed, accuracy, price, and portability for the Clarify system. With traditional scanning receiver measurements of any technology, including LTE (News - Alert) FDD, TD-LTE, CDMA, and EV-DO, users can now simultaneously conduct enhanced-performance Clarify measurements of UMTS and GSM networks.

Allowing existing SeeGull users to add Clarify capabilities to current scanners, Clarify measurements are also available on PCTEL’s SeeGull® MX and EX scanners. For years to come, technologies which will remain the backbone of many of the world’s wireless networks, the Clarify NGx provides superior dynamic range for UMTS and GSM, when combined with PCTEL’s patented Clarify Analyzer algorithms.

The spectrum crunch may require operators to install more cell sites, particularly small cells. However, each additional cell site can result in more dropped calls and reduced data throughput due to the increased risk of interference. Even on very weak-powered small cells, Clarify NGx helps operators detect and manage sources of interference.

“With new spectrum scarce and revenue growth slowing, now is the time for operators to look at how they can best maximize the return on their existing cellular networks,” said David Neumann, PCTEL's Vice President of Global Sales and Marketing for RF Solutions.

He concluded by stating that, to improve network efficiency, the Clarify NGx gives operators a price-competitive, state-of-the-art test tool that provides unique data they can use.
