ADI Engineering Introduces Reference Platforms and 'Open IP' OEM Products Based on the Intel Platform

October 24, 2012

Intel's (News - Alert) platform technologies offer important features that enhance productivity and reduce the total cost of ownership for systems, especially for IT managers. It improves packet-transfer rates, and allows IT managers to address the constant demand for more speed. Intel platform allows IT shops to manage networked systems remotely, even when devices are powered down or their operating systems are unavailable.

Recently, ADI Engineering (News - Alert), Inc. introduced its “Open IP” reference platforms and semi-custom OEM products for the Intel platform for communications infrastructure.

Covering the entire range of the newly announced Intel platform, ADI Engineering’s new reference platforms are available in AdvancedTCA (ATCA), Advanced Mezzanine Card (AMC) and PCI (News - Alert) Express form factors. With the help of ADI or directly with customer-preferred manufacturing partners, ADI Engineering offers development kits and OEM derivative products that rapidly scale to volume production.

ADI Engineering offers high-performance custom Intel-based embedded products. ADI Engineering is a privately held company and also an associate member of the Intel Intelligent Systems Alliance.

“ADI Engineering openly enables customers using the Intel platform for communications infrastructure, formerly codenamed ‘Crystal Forest,’ from initial evaluation through volume production of semi-custom OEM derivative products,” said Steve Yates, President of ADI Engineering. “With ADI’s Open IP engagement model, customers can retain design ownership and direct production control, reducing margin stacking and eliminating third-party supply chain risks inherent with conventional hardware vendors.”

In 2011, the company partnered with 6WIND, a provider of commercial packet processing solutions to provide packet network processing platforms for networking and telecom applications.
