Exinda360 Dynamic Policy Engine Chosen by Picanol Group

September 18, 2012

By Carolyn J Dawson, TMCnet Contributor

The Picanol Group, a major organization in the weaving machine industry, recently announced that it has chosen the Exinda 360 Dynamic Policy Engine. The Exinda offering will allow the Picanol Group to offer resolutions for prioritizing important applications, thereby ensuring easy administration of network traffic.

Weaving machines and other enhanced equipment goods, systems and services that are based on air or rapier technology are developed, produced and marketed by the Picanol Group. The WAN optimization program at the Picanol Group was already supported by a vendor. The vendor, however, stopped supporting the products installed at the Picanol Group after it was acquired by another organization.

The Picanol Group, therefore, needed to collaborate with another vendor for its WAN optimization program. As part of the vendor selection process, the Picanol Group evaluated four vendors and finally chose Exinda, mainly for its superior technology deployment which was in line with the Picanol Group's expectations.

In a statement, Bart Lagast, Senior System Engineer, Picanol Group said, “The initial deployment provided by Exinda was one of the best I have ever seen. It really helped us to optimize our traffic so employees did not experience any delays. User experience was greatly improved.”

The entire traffic between the Picanol Group data center and a remote site in Romania was exclusively displayed by the preliminary results. The Picanol Group was, therefore, able to finalize the products required for potential WAN optimization projects. Picanol Group will be implementing Exinda products both centrally and at remote locations. This will allow the organization to administer and organize business important applications over its worldwide network and in its data center. Securelink, an associate of Exinda will be assisting the organization in the implementation of the project.

Tim Hoefsloot, Sales Director, Benelux and Nordics, Exinda said, "We are very pleased that Picanol Group has selected Exinda following thorough research. Their decision underlines our commitment to delivering best-in-class products that offer customers the competitive edge they need today."

A five-year maintenance contract is included as part of the agreement between Exinda and the Picanol Group. The agreement also includes the entire worldwide deployments covering 8 sites.
